Stephanie Nedoshytko

Stephanie is a recent graduate from the Bachelor of Arts program at MacEwan University majoring in Political Science and minoring in Economics. She is currently serving as the President at the Students’ Association of MacEwan University for the 2017-2018 term, in addition to her role on SUSK. Prior to her position, Stephanie has worked at the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for five years, and has a passion for nonpartisan service. Dedicated to volunteerism, she has been extensively involved on campus and in the community. She co-founded the MacEwan Ukrainian Students Club, where she served as President and Treasurer. In addition to this, Stephanie was also involved in National Model United Nations. Last year, Stephanie served as the SUSK External Relations Director. She is excited to bring her skills and experience to the role of President this year.

    Ashley Halko-Addley

    Year and Field of Study: First year Master of Arts- Media and Cultural Studies

    Ashley Halko-Addley is a first year graduate student in Media and Cultural Studies with a specialization in Ukrainian at the University of Alberta. Ashley completed her Bachelor of Arts Honours in Anthropology and Ukrainian Studies at the University of Saskatchewan, where she was Co-President of the Ukrainian Students’ Association last year. Ashley served as Alumni Director on the 2016-17 SUSK Executive. Ashley has been an active volunteer in the Saskatoon Ukrainian Community, and she is hoping to become active in the Ukrainian Community in Edmonton over this next year. When she is not studying or volunteering, Ashley likes to cross stitch, crochet, and read.

      Andriy Katyukha

      Vice-President Finance

      Hometown: Mississauga, ON
      University: Western University
      Year and Field of Study: 4th Year Bachelor of Medical Sciences Honours Specialization in Physiology

      Andriy is currently attending Western University, and is in his 4th year of the Bachelor of Medical Sciences program. He is very passionate about medicine and involvement in his community. He has served as the Executive Vice President and the Vice President Finance of the Ukrainian Canadian Students’ Union in the past, and this will be his 3rd year on the Executive team. He also donates his time by serving as a Board Member on the Trillium Health Partners Volunteer Partners Board. Andriy is active at his university where he serves as Vice President Finance for the Faculty of Science Student Council, and is the Chair of the Board of Directors of the University Students’ Council.  He is very passionate about his Ukrainian upbringing and culture. He is currently the Past President of the Ukrainian Students’ Association at Western University, and is the Co-Chair of the Ukraine pavilion for Carassauga, a cultural festival in his hometown of Mississauga. Currently Andriy is a student researcher at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, where his research focuses on improving patient outcomes in oncology and finding new efficiencies in healthcare delivery. He looks forward to meeting students across Canada in his role, and advocating on their behalf!

        Boyan Woychyshyn

        Hometown: Ottawa, ON
        University: McGill University
        Year and Field of Study: MSc 2 Physiology

        Born and raised in Ottawa, the local Ukrainian community has always been an important part of Boyan’s life. He attended and graduated from Ukrainian school, and to this day is a member of the Ukrainian Scouting organization Plast. During Boyan’s undergraduate degree in Biology at Carleton University in Ottawa, he was a member of the executive of the Carleton Ukrainian Student Club and was its President in 2015. Boyan is currently completing his Masters degree in Physiology at McGill University in Montreal and continues to be involved in the Ukrainian students club, MUSA.

          Mattay Dubczak

          Year and Field of Study: 3rd year, Bachelor of International Relations

          Mattay is currently in his third year of studies at Western University studying International Relations. His passion for learning about the global economic and political systems have fuelled his desire to pursue a career in finance after university. Within his community, Mattay is deeply involved with multiple organizations, specifically as the VP Finance with the Western Ukrainian Students Association, a Director of Finance with the Western Venture Association and also stays involved with PLAST, a Ukrainian Scouting Organization. Mattay is excited to work with students both across the central region and Canada to foster a strong and connected Ukrainian Student community.

            Kimberly Gargus

            Hometown: Thorhild, AB
            University: University of Alberta
            Year and Field of Study:  5th year BSc in Microbiology

            Kimberly is a 5th year Bachelor of Science student majoring in Microbiology and minoring in Psychology at the University of Alberta. She has been a founding member and executive of the MacEwan Ukrainian Students Club, supporter of U of A Ukrainian Students’ Society, seasonal employee at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village, and the 2016-17 SUSK VP Internal. In her leisure time, she enjoys visiting her family farm, cuddling with cats, watching hockey (Bozak is #1 Kozak!), and improving her Ukrainian writing and speaking skills. Kimberly is grateful to be joining the SUSK executive again, and is looking forward to another successful year with a great team.

              Adelia Shwec

              External Relations Director

              Hometown: Montreal, QC
              University: University of Ottawa
              Year and Field of Study: 2nd year Law

              Adelia is currently in her second year of Law School at the University of Ottawa. Aside from her studies, she dedicates her time to community life and volunteering. In college, she founded the Marianopolis College Ukrainian Students’ Association and became its first president. When she attended McGill University, she was the Social Coordinator of the McGill University Ukrainian Students’ Association. In her first year of Law school, she became the Eastern Regional Vice-President for SUSK.  Moreover, for several years, she sat on the Board of Directors of the Montreal Ukrainian Youth Association (CYM).  In the past year, she was chosen to represent her federal political riding in Parliament at the Daughters of the Vote Conference.  In her free time, Adelia enjoys the outdoors, dancing, and socializing with friends.

                Raya Dzulynsky

                Year and Field of Study: 2nd year Medical Science

                Raya is a 2nd year student at Western University, currently studying Medical Science.  She is also the president of the Triathlon Club at Western University. Outside of studying Raya loves to ski and participate in active outdoor activities. Throughout her life, Raya has been involved in PLAST and in the past 2 years has also become involved in the Help us Help the Children (HUHTC) organization, including travelling to Ukraine in 2016 to be a counsellor at the summer camp. She is also a student researcher at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. Her main goal this year is to work with new Ukrainian students’ clubs become a part of SUSK.

                  Zenia Michno

                  Media Director

                  University: University of Winnipeg
                  Year and Field of Study: 3rd year BSc

                  Zenia is about to begin her third year at the University of Winnipeg studying sciences. Her future ambitions include pursuing a career in the medical field due to her passion for helping those around her. This past year Zenia aided in the revival of the University of Winnipeg’s Ukrainian Student Association and held the position of Vice-President. This year she continues her involvement with the club as President. When Zenia is not buried in the school books, she takes the time to travel as much as she can. Her highlights include a 3 month long backpacking trip across Europe, participating in a school exchange in Japan, and spending a week in the Sahara Desert. This summer, Zenia’s grand adventures included a road trip in the Canadian Rockies. She was also able to take advantage of the opportunity to live in Montreal and learn French for one month, through the Explore program. Zenia never misses a chance to try new foods/restaurants, explore nature or learn about different cultures.


                      Roman Grod

                      Year and Field of Study: 2nd Year, Honours Economics and Management

                      Roman Grod is enrolled in second year Honours Economics & Management at Wilfrid Laurier University. He is also the President & Co-founder of, an exchange platform that enables students to share resources and information to succeed in post-secondary education. Roman’s work experience includes, Financial Analyst with CIBC and Program Manager with the Canada Ukraine Chamber of Commerce. Within the community, Roman is involved in the Laurier Global Markets Club as Director of Marketing, Laurier Economics Club, Kitchener/Waterloo Ukrainian Association of Students, and an executive member and counsellor with the Ukrainian Youth Association.  Roman is also actively engaged in helping orphans, handicapped youth and families of war veterans in Ukraine as a volunteer with Help Us Help the Children (HUHTC), both in Ukraine and Canada.  For HUHTC he has been involved as a camp counsellor, fundraising, as well as collecting and shipping donations of clothing, bicycles and other goods. Roman has a broad network of SUSK alumni and is excited to work with SUSK to help build a strong network within the community.

                          Orycia Karpa

                          University: University of Winnipeg
                          Year and Field of Study: 4th year Biology

                          Orycia is a fourth-year biology student at the University of Winnipeg. She actively holds the position as Marketing Coordinator for the University of Winnipeg Ukrainian Students’ Association. When Orycia is not at school she works as a Wings Team Member for Red Bull. Orycia loves to dance and has been dancing with the Rusalka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble for five years. She is the dance group’s Member Liaison for two years in a row. Last year she travelled to Peru with the dance group and visited Machu Picchu. Orycia is very excited to be working on the SUSK Executive, she is excited to learn and form new friendships.

                            Mikaila Ortynsky

                            Mikaila is a currently a second year business student at the University of Saskatchewan. She is involved in numerous business societies and clubs at university, including holding the position of Vice President of Communications of the University of Saskatchewan Ukrainian Students’ Association (USUSA). Outside of school Mikaila enjoys exploring Saskatoon and spending time with friends and family.



                              Cassian Soltykevych

                              University:  University of Alberta
                              Year and Field of Study: B.Comm in Management, Marketing, and Leadership

                              Cassian recently received his Bachelors of Commerce with Distinction from the Alberta School of Business with a focus on management, marketing, and leadership. During his undergrad, Cassian completed the Leadership Certificate Program at the Alberta School of Business and was involved with a variety of student organizations. Currently, Cassian works in project management and digital marketing with various clients across Canada. His clients have including RedBull Canada, the Art Gallery of Alberta, the University of Alberta, the Edmonton International Film Festival (EIFF), and Spartan Spark. He recently served on the organizing committee of Sviato 25, the largest celebration of Ukrainian culture in Alberta’s history in August of 2016. Cassian currently volunteers his time as a Member of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) National Executive and as the Past President of the Ukrainian Canadian Students’ Union (SUSK).

                              Connor Moen

                              National Coordinator

                              In November 2013, the Ukrainian Canadian Students’ Union (SUSK) secured funding through the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) Ukrainian Dragons competition for several initiatives, including the creation of a full-time National Coordinator position based in Ottawa, Ontario, in order to better consolidate and further professionalize our activities.

                              Based in Ottawa, Ontario, the SUSK National Coordinator works alongside UCC staff at the UCC National Office to help SUSK reach, support, and empower more young Ukrainian Canadians while enhancing the operational capacity of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress.

                              Connor Moen recently completed his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science at the University of Saskatchewan and joined the UCC staff in Ottawa on September 6, 2016. Connor comes from a wealth of experience in Ukrainian Student Organization (USO) development, helping revive his club at the University of Saskatchewan in 2011 and eventually leading its growth into becoming one of the largest USOs across the country. Connor took this experience and joined the SUSK National Executive in 2015 as Project Director, where he spearheaded the execution of the 2016 Annual SUSK Congress (‘SUSKatoon‘).
