The U of C Ukrainian Students’ Society will be screening the film “Ukraine: The Birth of A Nation” on Tuesday, November 8th. The event will take place in the ‘Guildenstern’ Room (MSC 237) in the Macewan Conference and Events Centre (This is located in the corner of Macewan Hall on the opposite side of The Black Lounge). The screening will take place at 6:00pm and will include part 1 & 2 of the film, with part 3 and 4 at a later …date.
“Ukraine: The Birth of A Nation” is a four part historical documentary which covers the full length of Ukrainian history. Made by film producer Jerzy Hoffman, the film covers 4 chronological divisions from early times to the present. A professionally-made, interesting, balanced and informative documentary film that covers all of Ukrainian history; It contains rare film footage, good cinematography and Hoffman’s perceptive summaries of distinct historical periods.
This is an excellent oppurtunity for improving your knowledge of Ukrainian history regardless of your previous knowledge base in this area. We strongly encourage everyone to join us for what is sure to be an excelent event. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us.
